Most used tags
The number after each tag is how many posts use it.
Selected articles
The articles found by your search on the Search tab are selected here. Remove any you want to leave out, then copy or download the list. Every article in the export has a working link to the original post: the title is linked, and the web address is shown under it.
Summaries are the opening sentences of each post, in the author's own words.
Age ranges for youth groups
Every post has a suggested age range for reading and discussing it in a youth group with an adult leader.
Using the age ranges
- Filter. On the Search tab, choose the age of the youngest person in your group under Youth group age, for example "Youngest is 12 or 13". Only posts suitable for that age are shown, and they are selected for export automatically.
- Labels. Each post shows a badge: All ages, Ages 12+, Ages 14+ or Ages 16+. When a post deals with hard subjects, a line under its summary names them, for example "Mature themes: deaths of children", and its badge is orange: Ages 14+.
- Export. In Selected & Export, tick Age range to add each post's range and any mature themes to the exported list.
How the age is set
Each post gets the higher of two measures:
- Reading level. The age at which a group with an adult leader could follow the post, based on sentence length and word difficulty. Reading level alone never raises a post above 14+.
- Mature themes. Suicide or self-harm, sexual violence, graphic violence, genocide and war, the deaths of children, police violence, drugs, and strong language. A passing mention raises the age a little; a post centered on the subject raises it more. Figures of speech such as "the rape of the Earth" or "suicide bombing" are not counted as sexual violence or self-harm.

How the ranges were checked
A separate reviewer read 30 sample posts and judged them without seeing the computer's answers. The first rules rated too many harmless posts 16+ and missed some descriptions of children's deaths in Gaza, so the rules were changed. After the changes, every one of the 30 posts was within one age band of the reviewer's judgment, and half matched exactly.
Please read before sharing
These ranges are guidance worked out by a computer, not an official rating. Please read a post before sharing it with young people. New posts are rated the same way when they are added each day.
Verified Facts
Key historical facts these posts rely on, each checked against an outside source in October 2026. Choose a topic to see its facts, the source that confirms each one, and the posts that state it. Facts are plain summaries, not quotations from the posts.

About this library
How search works
- Type one or more words. A post matches when every word appears in its title, tags, summary or full text. Words also match their longer forms, so
colonfindscolonialism. - Put words in quotes, such as
"mutual aid", to find them together as a phrase. - Put a minus sign before a word, such as
-Iowa, to leave out posts that use it. - Best match ranks title matches first, then tags, then summaries, then the rest of the text.
Age ranges for youth groups
Each post has a suggested minimum age for reading and discussing it in a youth group with an adult leader: All ages, 12+, 14+ or 16+. It is guidance worked out by a computer, not an official rating, so please read a post before sharing it with young people.
- Reading level. Longer sentences and longer words raise the age, up to 14+.
- Mature themes. Posts about suicide or self-harm, sexual violence, graphic violence, genocide and war, the deaths of children, police violence, drugs, or strong language get a higher age. A passing mention raises it a little; a post centered on the subject raises it more. The themes found are listed under the post.
- Posts that are mostly photos or video have too little text to rate and say "Age not rated".
To find posts for your group, choose the age of its youngest member under Youth group age on the Search tab.
Exporting
When you search or set filters, every article found is selected. Untick any you want to leave out, or use Deselect page. In the Selected & Export tab, choose a format and whether to include a summary of each article, then copy the list or download it. Rich text pastes into email and word processors with working links. Tick Related verified fact to add, under each article, a fact from the Verified Facts collection: one the post itself states if there is one, otherwise the fact closest to its subject, or, when no fact matches the subject, the verified event closest in time. Each comes with its source link. Your selection is kept in this browser until you clear it.
